Safety Measures
- Do make use of the abandoned physical media like USB, Pendrive, CD etc., found in public places
- Never get tempted to download any freely downloadable movie, music, antivirus etc., made available online
- Do not click on the links sent online on the pretext of free online games, wall papers etc.,
- Do not make use of the freely distributed physical media like USB, Pendrive, CDs etc., on the pretext of promotional drive or advertising.
- Ensure to regularly update your system with latest antivirus and anti-spyware software
- Always update your system with latest software patches
- Always ensure to scan the pendrive being used. Also format the pendrive being used for first time and disable the autorun.exe
- Maintain two step verification code to sign into account (Mobile alert).
- Consider using Safe Browsing tools, filtering tools (antivirus and content-based filtering) in antivirus, firewall, and filtering services.
- Always send confidential information in encrypted format using techniques such as Pretty Good Encryption (PGP) etc., wherein only sender and receiver can see the information.
